Kerr Dining Hall is located on Maple Street between Avenues A and B in Kerr Hall. It is the campus' largest dining facility. Kerr has multiple dining options, including a salad bar, burger and pizza lines, and many different choices of desserts and ice cream. Many students, especially freshman, live on campus and are required to have a meal plan. Because of this, they eat in the dining halls. Kerr cafeteria is the only cafeteria that is open late on weekdays and is also the only one open on weekends. It is one of the only options for students living on campus, unless they are willing to go to a fast food place or restaurant and spend a little extra. For some, going out somewhere to eat is difficult because they do not have a car. As a result, they end up going to Kerr hall's cafeteria, because it is easy to get to and they are already paying for a meal plan.
Many students have class at night or have meetings, sports events, etc. and do not have time to eat until later in the night, after most dining halls are closed. Kerr hall is the only close option. Kerr hall's cafeteria is convenient, but the food is not very good. A great amount of students believe if Kerr is going to be the only hall that is open late and on the weekends, it should at least have good food.
A main reason why students eat Kerr food is because it is the only dining hall open late and every day of the week. Throughout the day, Kerr's cafeteria is very empty. One of the main things that students eat is pizza, and most people definitely agree that Kerr hall should have better pizza.
